Heartgard Plus is a monthly oral pet med used as a combination heartworm preventive and intestinal wormer. Those wormer survival time in dogs is about 5-7 years, it will damage the heart and lung tissue, affect blood circulation, and then damage other organs.

Precautions before prevention:

For the first time, consult a veterinarian and conduct a screening test: In order to help dogs establish a complete heartworm prevention plan. Veterinarians must discuss past prevention history with the owner. If the owner does not regularly help the dog with heartworm prevention, or has never used preventive medicine, it is recommended to screen before prescribing heartworm prevention medicine.

Dogs under seven months of age: Start (or continue) regular monthly prophylaxis immediately; heartworm screening starts six months after the first prophylaxis.
